To the Cape

When David and I took a day to tour the Cape Penninsula, we took a glorious hike between Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope.  The Atlantic Ocean is pockmarked with the ruins of old ships that had been dashed across the rocks.  Although there were tourists at both Capes, we didn’t meet another soul as we walked between the two.  That is, not a single soul save the ghost of Bartholemew Diaz.  I am pretty sure it was him, because the chilly wind felt ghastly. I guess it also could have been the souls of the sailors lost on the rocks below.

Before we took the hike, we took the funicular to the top of Cape Point where the largest lighthouse in Africa sits.

For future reference, I do not recommend doing this hike in Sperry Topsiders, as I did.
