I have yet to post any of the photos I took from my wonderful Thanksgiving holiday in Mississippi with my family. I think too often photos and pictures are poor substitutes for just being in the moment, because no matter how fantastic your photography skills, a picture cannot capture a perfect moment.
Nonetheless, here are some of my weak attempts at a photographic memory.
Mississippi sunsets are the closest to the perfection of African sunsets that one can hope for in the States –
The Gator riding is still second to none –
A walk with the dogs through the fields in the woods is the closest I can get to a visual image that describes my mental happy place.
Time with extended family leaves you exhasted from the laughing, running, shouting and dancing.
And oh, the fires –
